Down Syndrome Ireland “Laois Branch” has secured 4 acres of land from Laois County Council to create its very own Field of Dreams.
The aim is to build a Centre of Excellence, a Training Hub and an Allotment area for ‘Growing Your Own Fruit and Veg’ with hopes to eventually create independent living quarters at the Abbeyleix property.
Design plans are already in place for Phase One to build a self-sustaining area to give empowerment and employment for Adults with Disabilities.
