The Dublin branch got a shout out from Aidan Cooney on Q102 yesterday to celebrate World Down Syndrome Day. Aidan talked about the work carried out by the volunteer members of the Down Syndrome Dublin committee, all of whom are parents of children with Down syndrome.
World Down Syndrome Day “is their day”, Aidan said about people with Down syndrome and their families and friends, as we use the day to advocate for the rights, inclusion, respect and wellbeing of people with Down syndrome. Aidan pointed out that World Down Syndrome day is also “a day of celebration of people with Down syndrome, as we celebrate their wonderful achievements and contributions to society and their community”. And so say all of us!
