DSI adopts new constitution at AGM

DSI members adopt new constitution at AGM

Down Syndrome Ireland held its Annual General Meeting for 2023 at the Radisson Blu Hotel, Athlone on November 11th. This was a momentous occasion for everyone associated with DSI.

After a year of consultation and debate, Down Syndrome Ireland’s new constitution was overwhelmingly approved and came into force immediately. With 75% support required to pass the constitution, 91.7% of voting delegates gave their backing to the document.

Under the new rules – which extends the voting franchise to thousands of our members – six new directors were approved and the rest of the business of the AGM completed.

The AGM was conducted in a spirit of co-operation and respect, and the highlight was undoubtedly the presentation given by members of our National Advisory Council at the beginning of the meeting, which set the tone for a memorable and highly significant occasion.

Down Syndrome Ireland would like to thank everyone who attended the AGM, and all the branch committees and staff members who helped make this year’s event a reality.
