DSI Leinster House briefing on Jan 30th – please contact your local TD urging them to attend

Representatives from Down Syndrome Ireland will be attending Leinster House on January 30th to make a presentation to TDs and Senators in Leinster House in relation to both:

  • July Provision for children with Down syndrome

  • The importance of Individual Education Plans(IEPs)

Thank you to our members who contacted us with your views – we will share these with all the TDs and Senators who attend the briefing.

The briefing is being hosted on our behalf by Niamh Smyth TD for the Cavan–Monaghan constituency along with the Fianna Fáil Spokesperson on Disability Margaret Murphy O’Mahony.

PLEASE CONTACT YOUR LOCAL TDS AND SENATORS ASKING THEM TO ATTEND

Together we can make the change

Please help us ensure your voice is heard and ask your local elected representative to attend the briefing on your behalf as their local constituent and hear why we are calling for adequate education resources for your child.

On our website here, you will find:

  • A letter/email you can download and issue to your local elected representative urging them to attend on your behalf as a parent of a child with Down syndrome in their constituency

  • A full list of all the TDs and Senators in the country

We will continue to fight on the behalf of our members, to ensure our children can thrive in education and fulfil their potential.
