DSI to appear in front of Oireachtas on Progressing Disabilities

Down Syndrome Ireland continues in its lobbying of Government on the substantial issues being faced by children with Down syndrome in accessing vital services.

We will appear in front of the Joint Committee on Disability Matters to discuss Progressing Disability Services on Thursday, 26 May 2022 at 9:45 am.

The topics include the rollout of the progressing disability services model and CDNT’s as well as funding and resourcing of the programme.

Please keep an eye on social media next week – we will post the link to access the meeting live on the day. We will also include a link to the video when it is available and also include it in our next Digest.

We will present the Committee with our Progressing Disabilities Report which outlines the complete lack of services for children and also outline parents’ concerns.

We will continue to work to advocate for the proper resourcing of vital therapies as a matter of urgency.
