We are delighted to announce our new partnership with the Bon Secours Hospital Limerick. We are looking to recruit three adults with Down syndrome for this training programme which will start in September.
This six week training programme will allow successful candidates to gain experience in a hospital setting as well as gain work place skills.
All applicants will complete pre-employment and pre-interview training online with our employment team.
Skills, Competencies and/or Knowledge
Support and Training
- Successful candidates will be given on the job training and will be working alongside a work mentor for the duration of the 6 weeks training.

Physical Demands
- Ability to stand and move around the as needed.
- Minimal lifting required.
Successful candidates will need to have the following:
- A positive attitude to working
- Be on time for work and to be available for the 2 days ever week over the 6 weeks training
- Ability to understand and follow instructions
- Good communication skills

First Training Opportunity
Job Title: Catering Support
Hours: 5 Hours over 2 days per week
Reports to: Catering Services Manager
Mentor: Support Services Manager
Duties:
- Meeting and greeting customers
- Making sure that all canteen stock is stocked up at all times
- Cleaning of the canteen which includes the tables, chairs and all countertops
Second Training Opportunity
Job Title: General Operative
Hours: 5 Hours over 2 days per week
Reports to: Household Supervisor
Mentor: Support Services Manager
Duties:
- Assist with taking in deliveries of stock and checking it off
- Organising the stock and stocking the shelves with the new stock
- Cleaning the stock room and shelves
Third Training Opportunity
Job Title: General Operative
Hours: 5 Hours over 2 days per week
Reports to: CSSD Lead
Mentor: Support Services Manager
Duties:
- Assist with taking in deliveries of stock and checking it off
- Organising the stock and stocking the shelves with the new stock
- Assisting with the collection of stock from the local storeroom
- Accompany colleagues with surgical trolleys to and from theatre location
