Hold a Go for Gold Day for Down Syndrome Ireland, marking our 50th year providing support and services nationally to people with Down syndrome and their families across Ireland.

We are asking schools to host a Fundraiser for DSI this year as one of their end of year celebrations. Set up a Go For Gold Sports Day or Go For Gold Hero Day, using the Down Syndrome Ireland branded materials we provide to decorate the school, and award a ‘medal’ sticker to everyone involved.

We can also provide you with a presentation aimed at a younger audience along with Teacher Notes which can support you in teaching your pupils about Down syndrome and improve their understanding of disability and the importance of inclusion.

Download our primary school student information and teaching resources for your classroom or community group and let’s get everyone talking to raise awareness.

You might also like to incorporate your party preparations into an art class and invite all your children to paint or draw their favourite Hobby or prepare a Show & Tell for their friends.

To help kick off your day we have provided some fun downloadables:

You can register below to receive your pack (which includes balloons and stickers) and while you are waiting for your pack to arrive you can use this poster to advertise your Go For Gold day or print this poster to help spread awareness of our Go For Gold campaign!

We would love to see any pictures you take on the day please tag us in @downsyndromeireland to our social media pages and also use #GoForGold4DSI and #ShareTheJourney.
