One of our key goals is to provide people with Down syndrome with a high degree of independence in adulthood. We are making real progress in developing our adult education programmes and establishing partnerships with companies such as ALFAPARF Milano to support us.
JOB OPPORTUNITY NEWS FOR 2018 – OPEN DAY ON JANUARY 24th!
We have a number of job opportunities for adults with DS as a result of developing recent partnerships with some organisations and business firms in Ireland including The National Treasury Management Agency (NTMA), Royal College of Surgeons (RCSI), two insurance firms and a catering company. These opportunities are open to all adult members that are 18 years and older. Employment is expected to begin in the coming months on differing contract basis and these roles will be both part-time and full-time positions.
At present these jobs are Dublin based, but we are working on extending our partnerships Nationwide. As such, on this occasion we are only looking for potential candidates in the Louth/Meath, Westmeath, Kildare, Dublin & Wicklow areas.
Aoife Gaffney (née Wemyss) – National Employment and Projects Officer for Down Syndrome Ireland – will be holding an Open Day on Wednesday, 24th January – (10:30am – 2pm) for interested candidates. Following the Open Day Aoife will contact the successful candidates to attend a pre-employment course for 2 days in the National Office.
