Mum Marie talks about early intervention on Virgin Media’s Ireland AM

The Government needs to invest in vital early intervention services and therapists for babies and children with Down syndrome. Mum Marie from Kildare appeared on Virgin Media’s Ireland AM with her beautiful baby son Conn, who is almost 10 months old, who has yet to receive any of his critical early intervention programme of activities, such as occupational therapy, speech and language and physiotherapy.

She appeared alongside our early year’s specialist Olive Buckeridge. We’re aware of parents who are waiting for up to three years for these critical services for their children, which is absolutely shameful.

All children deserve the best possible start in life. A lack of investment and Government action is putting children on a path of disability and dependence and causing untold stress for families.

We need action now.
