Our National Advisory Council members were guests on RTE 1’s The Late Late Show

On Friday 16th March our National Advisory Council members were invited guests on The Late Late Show with presenter Ryan Tubridy. The group were there to talk about their unique Photography Exhibition ‘Who Am I?’, which ran in the Powerscourt Centre in Dublin City Centre and is now being exhibited by our branches around the country. Members of the council chatted with Ryan about some of their photographs and explained the background to those.

Lisa Cahill, our Adult Officer, spoke to Ryan about the background to the project as did photographer Eric Molimard who worked with the Council members. The exhibition attempts to challenge perceptions of Down syndrome in society by making visible the diversity of their educational and work engagement, the depth of artistic and sporting skill and active community involvement.

The exhibition was kindly sponsored by Frank Keane Volkswagen.

Everyone in Down Syndrome Ireland is so very proud of the group. It was a momentous occasion for each of them and for their families. Well done everyone!

The ‘ Who Am I?’ exhibition also featured on the 9 O’Clock News on RTE 1
