Programme Coordinator for Down Syndrome Sligo
My name is Kathleen Vickers and I have recently taken on the role of Programme Coordinator for Down Syndrome Sligo.
I am from a social work background and have worked for a number of years in the disability sector in Ireland managing residential, respite and day services, and community- based services.
My main responsibilities will be to create a plan of activities and supports in the county for the next 12 months and to also provide information and advice to new and existing members and their families regarding the work of Down Syndrome Ireland and supports available through Down Syndrome Sligo.
My first task in carrying out this role will be to find out more about the branch, the current activities and supports, and to look at what the members would like to see happening in the county.
