Provision of School Places for Children with Special Educational Needs

We welcome the announcement from Ministers Foley and Madigan in relation to Government approval for the Education (Provision in Respect of Children with Special Educational Needs) Bill 2022 which seeks to ensure adequate provision of school placements for all children with special educational needs for the coming school year.

We will continue our engagement with the Department of Education to ensure that this legislation is passed in a timely manner and that all children with Down syndrome will have an appropriate school place in September.
