On Monday June 24th, at the Down Syndrome Ireland office, we celebrated the graduation of the Skills Academy learners.

Family, friends, local businesses, and staff all came to celebrate.

After a year of hard work, the learners earned a their certificates that will help prepare them for a job.

During the year, they learned:

  • Hospitality skills
  • Computer skills
  • Retail skills
  • How to create a CV
  • Interview skills

Our amazing tutors, Kathryn and John, were provided by the Dublin and Dun Laoghaire ETB.

The learners who worked hard all year round are Cathal, James, Dylan, Richard, Ethan, Basirat, and Cliodhna.

Aisling Brown, Adult Education and Life Long Learning Officer, from Down Syndrome Ireland, coordinated this program. She said: “The Skills Academy graduation celebrated the achievements of participants who successfully completed the programme. Families and supporters gathered at this joyous occasion to applaud the growth, hard work and dedication of each student.”
