If you are a school leaver or an adult who would like to continue learning, Down Syndrome Ireland can help you.

Down Syndrome Ireland has some courses you may like to do.

These courses are:

Latch-On (Literacy and Technology – Hands On)  

This is a 2-year college course. You go to college 2 days per week.

You work on:

  • Reading
  • Writing
  • Speaking
  • Listening
  • Numeracy
  • Technology

MOTE (My Opinion My Vote)  

This course is usually for 2 years and you go to college 1 day every week. 

You learn about politics and about how important it is to vote. 

Work Skills   

This is a 3-year course. For the first 2 years, you go to college 2 days every week. You prepare for work, for example learning how to write a CV and practising job interviews. 

In the third year, you do work experience

 

Online Short Courses Programmes  

A number of online programmes are available, depending on interest.  

These courses are for 2 hours per week (1 hour on 2 different days), for 8 weeks.

Healthy Eating & Wellbeing  

This course will help you be healthy and well.  

Movie Time 

This course is a fun way to discover different genres of movies including science fiction, adventure and comedies. You will explore how movies are made and who works behind the camera.

Music Time 

This course is a fun way to discover different types of music including pop, country and rock, as well as Ireland in the Eurovision.
