The First Big Step Mayo Conference

The First Big Step – Transition to Primary School Conference took place on Friday the 28th of February in the Great National Hotel, Co. Mayo. Lots of useful information was imparted at this busy event, on the day our Education Officer – Fidelma Brady highlighted information on:

  • What the primary school can do for you
  • Developing early Literacy Skills
  • Developing early numeracy skills

She also provided an overview in relation to the new SNA allocation model. Facilitating a smooth transition to primary school was also discussed with information about useful apps, resources and links provided.

Our thanks to Mr Kelvin Frain, Behaviour Support Specialist, who delivered an extremely comprehensive session on behaviour management – this session was incredibly informative and useful to parents, teachers and other professionals.

Thank you to our Mayo Branch for helping to organise such as successful event – tickets are still available for our date in Cork.
