Tour de Munster 2024 is a resounding success

2024 Tour de Munster Concludes with Resounding Success

The 2024 Tour de Munster, an event that has become a cherished tradition, kicked off in style on Thursday at the iconic English Market in Cork. The cyclists were met with overwhelming support as they journeyed through each of the counties in Munster.

Starting from Cork, the riders made their way through the scenic routes of Waterford, Tipperary, and Limerick. The first day’s cycle concluded at the Lakeside Hotel in Killaloe, offering stunning views of the Shannon River on the Clare/Tipperary border. Spirits were high as the cyclists took in the breathtaking landscapes of the Irish countryside.

Day two began in Killaloe, with the cyclists circling Lough Derg before enjoying some traditional music in Ennis. The day’s journey included a ferry crossing at Killimer, which brought them to Tarbert in County Kerry. A week before the Rose’s make an appearance, the cyclists ended day two in the infamous Rose hotel in Tralee.

The third day saw the cyclists tackle the Ring of Kerry. With stops in Milltown and Killarney, they continued their journey through the Dingle Peninsula. The day’s cycle concluded in the charming town of Kenmare, where the riders were treated to the warmth of local hospitality.

The final day of the tour began in Kenmare, with the cyclists heading towards West Cork. They stopped along the way in Gouganebarra and Lissarda before making their way back to Cork city. The climax of the tour was the challenging ascent of Patrick’s Hill, where supporters lined the streets, cheering the cyclists as they tackled this steep climb. The tour finally concluded at the Clayton Silversprings, where they were greeted by the uplifting sounds of the Carrigtwohill Gospel Choir and well-deserved refreshments.

A massive congratulations to all the cyclists who participated and to the dedicated team behind the scenes who worked tirelessly to ensure the 2024 Tour de Munster was a phenomenal success!
