Waterford Social Farming Initiative enhancing lives

Last Thursday, January 11th, Minister Finian McGrath TD visited the fantastic Ballinamona Social Farm to meet three members of our Waterford and South Kilkenny branch, who have just completed a 12 week Social Farming Programme; a partnership between Waterford Leader Partnership CLG and DSI Waterford.

Congratulations to branch members Fred Sullivan, Darragh Quinlan and Josh Keating for successfully completing the programme which included hands-on work, training and team-work on the farm and provided them with an opportunity to work as part of a team in their local community with farmers, gained experience in care of animals, planting vegetables, general farm work, meetings & discussions.

Well done Fred, Darragh and Josh! What a great achievement to complete the programme so successfully!
