Down Syndrome Ireland is seeking four new board members. Those interested in applying must be a close relative of someone with Down syndrome or a person with Down syndrome.  

This includes:  

  • a spouse, civil partner, or cohabitant  
  • a parent, step-parent, mother-in-law or father-in-law  
  • a brother, sister, step-sibling, brother-in-law or sister-in-law  
  • a grandparent or grandchild  
  • an aunt or uncle  
  • a cousin  
  • a guardian  

The skills the board is looking for are as follows: 

  • HR 
  • Finance 
  • Medical 
  • Public Affairs 
  • Fundraising 
  • IT 

If you have a close relative who you think would be suitable, please consider asking them to apply to join the board.  

This role offers the chance to directly influence the future of the organisation using previous board experience or gaining invaluable experience on the board of a national charity. It’s also an excellent opportunity to take on a rewarding new challenge and support people with Down syndrome in a way they may not previously have been considered.
