Down Syndrome Ireland Offaly branch is a community focused group established since 1984.
Our parent link programme welcomes new families to the community and provides the much-needed support and advice they require, to guide them through the start of their journey.
Our monthly coffee mornings provides the perfect opportunity to meet other parents in person and to catch up on news from social events and family fun days. Don't worry if you can't make the coffee mornings as our private Facebook and Whatsapp groups ensures that our members are always able to contact each other at a moment’s notice to share photos, concerns, proud parent moments and much more.
Down Syndrome Ireland Offaly branch provide numerous services to our members including subsidising private therapies ie speech and language, occupational therapy, and our home teacher initiative for children under 12 years of age to name a few. We recently launched our Music, Art and Dance classes which takes place monthly in Birr. So far, they have been a great success! We host regular family fun days throughout the year for our younger members as well as parent nights outs and discos for our teen and adult members.
Our branch is going from strength to strength and the future looks bright for all our membership. For this, we have to thank the huge generosity of the people of Offaly who have consistently supported our branch over the last thirty-four years of our existence in the county and hopefully will continue to do so into the future.
