Aidan Stacey, CEO Down Syndrome Ireland

The Board of Down Syndrome Ireland is delighted to announce the appointment of Aidan Stacey as CEO.

Aidan joins Down Syndrome Ireland from Irish Wheelchair Association where he worked as Commercial Director for the last eight years. Prior to this, he worked in senior roles with high impact charities including Dublin Simon, Irish Heart Foundation and GOAL.

Speaking about his appointment, Aidan said: “I am honoured, privileged and very excited to have joined this wonderful organisation – a charity I have admired for many years and one which delivers so strongly for people with Down syndrome.

I have a passion for a more inclusive, fair world for all and I commit myself fully to our mission of driving positive changes for people with Down syndrome in Ireland.

I passionately believe that Down Syndrome Ireland’s strength comes from the combined voices of people with Down syndrome across Ireland. I look forward to working with the wider team, with members, families and branches to ensure this is achieved.”

Down Syndrome Ireland supports and advocates for people with Down syndrome and their families throughout Ireland.

The charity represents members across 25 branches nationwide and works to enhance the lives of thousands of children and adults with Down syndrome across the country.
