Down Syndrome Ireland chosen as Woodie’s Heroes charity 2025
Woodie’s Heroes is back with their annual fundraiser, and we are excited to announce that we have been chosen as one of their charities.
Meet our wonderful Woodie’s Heroes ambassador Maidhcí

Maidhcí Murphy, age 5, from county Clare is a born entertainer, who lights up every room he enters! Through the support of Down Syndrome Ireland’s Keep Communicating programme, Maidhcí’s speech and communication skills have flourished.
Under this programme, children with Down syndrome are getting weekly speech and language support, which has changed lives. Since September 2024, nearly 4,000 sessions have been provided in 9 counties. As of 2025, we are now providing speech and language therapy support to 17 counties, with the aim of providing the programme to every county in Ireland. With the vital fundraising from Woodie’s Heroes, Down Syndrome Ireland will use the funds to expand the Keep Communicating programme across the country.
Since 2015, the campaign has raised over €4.1 million for Irish children’s charities thanks to the generosity of Woodie’s customers, colleagues, and suppliers. The charities are chosen each year by Woodie’s colleagues and 100% of the money raised goes directly to the charities and is divided evenly among them.
Now in its eleventh year, Woodie’s Heroes is the annual fundraiser in support of Irish children’s charities. This year Down Syndrome Ireland, Autism Assistance Dogs Ireland, Childline by ISPCC and Cancer Fund for Children are set to benefit from Woodie’s and the public’s generosity.
