Down Syndrome Ireland’s 2026 AGM
We held our Annual General Meeting at the Clayton Hotel, Leopardstown on Saturday, 10 October 2026. The meeting opened with a welcome from President of the Board, Martina Kelly, followed by a presentation by the National Advisory Council (NAC).
The NAC advocate for our members, educate the public, and work closely with many important figures to bring about change that truly matters. Members of the NAC include Fintan Bray, Una Coates, Orla Casey, Eric Nolan, Conor O’Donnell, and Yann O’Carroll. They spoke about the projects they have been working on throughout 2025 including meeting with Michéal Martin; featuring in Sunday Life magazine; working with international Down syndrome organisations; their collaboration with Transport for Ireland and more. You can read more here.

After the NAC presentation, all resolutions were voted for and passed, including the election of four new Board Directors. You can learn more about the Board here. A special resolution was also passed which means the cut off date for members to register as an AGM voter will change from 31 March to 31 July.
There was a strong sense of commitment throughout the day, with CEO Aidan Stacey saying, “from expanding employment opportunities and strengthening our education and SLT services … the impact of Down Syndrome Ireland has continued to grow because of the dedication of our members, volunteers, employees, branches and supporters.” Martina added, “Last year we faced changes and challenges, but also saw remarkable growth, collaboration, and real progress. Together, our members, families, volunteers, staff and supporters continued to strengthen our organisation, expand services and advocate for a more inclusive Ireland.”
