Down Syndrome Ireland is delighted to share that Lots of Socks is back for 2025, and we can’t wait to see all your colourful, creative events! 

What is Lots of Socks?

Lots of Socks is our annual fundraiser to celebrate World Down Syndrome Day.

Get involved by hosting your own Lots of Socks party or event in your community.

All you have to do is gather friends, family, classmates or colleagues, pop on some colourful socks and raise awareness and funds for Down Syndrome Ireland.

When does it take place?

Lots of Socks takes place on the 21st of March on the same day as World Down Syndrome Day. However, you can host your event any day that works for you!

How do I get involved?

You’ll then be sent an email with all the information you need to get started.

Do I need to buy special Down Syndrome Ireland socks? 

We are delighted to have very special limited edition Down Syndrome Ireland socks for sale this year.

You don’t have to purchase these particular socks to host your event, but if you’re in need of some funky pairs, you can get them here

Who can get involved?

Absolutely anyone can get involved in Lots of Socks.

If you want to do it in your school, creche, college or classroom you can register as a School when you sign up.

If you’re doing it in your office, workplace or with your colleagues sign up as a Company

If you’re doing it yourself, or with friends, families and neighbours in your community you can sign up as an Individual.

I’ve hosted my fundraiser, what’s next?

Thank you so much for raising funds and awareness for World Down Syndrome Day. We are so grateful for your support and we’d like to thank you for the difference you’ve made in our members lives. 

Now, you can lodge your funds so that we can get to work. 

How to lodge funds raised

Thank you for joining thousands of supporters across Ireland in celebrating World Down Syndrome Day.

Please bank your funds within 4 weeks of your event so your hard earned donations can get to work straight away.

Online Fundraising

If you are raising funds online, donations are automatically transferred to us monthly so you don’t have to worry about lodging your funds.

Website

Visit Down Syndrome Ireland and use our online form to submit your funds raised using your credit card, or debit card.

Cheque/Bank Draft

Drop a cheque or bank draft in the post with your name and address. Our address is Down Syndrome Ireland, Unit 3, Western Parkway Business Park, Ballymount Drive, Dublin D12 HP70

Due to new banking procedures all cheques must be made out to Down Syndrome Ireland. Please write any further information on the back of the cheque.

If you lodge your funds in a post office, please email accounts@downsyndrome.ie to let us know the date, amount and post office location of your lodgement. These donations are transferred to us anonymously from An Post and we want to be able to acknowledge your amazing generosity.
