Sample job: Lidl Customer Service Assistant 

Lidl are looking to recruit 2 adults with Down syndrome to work in their stores in Shackleton, Lucan & Drumcondra as a Customer Service Assistant. 

What you’ll do 

  • Interact with customers 
  • Clean & tidy store 
  • Stock shelves 
  • Prepare & display bakery products 

What you’ll need 

  • Excellent customer service skills 
  • To be reliable 
  • A good team player 
  • Preferably, previous experience in a customer facing role but this is not essential provided you have the right attitude 

What you’ll receive 

  • Training & supervision 
  • €13.85 per hour 
  • Opportunity to progress to more tasks and hours over time 

Working days and hours are flexible, dependent on the ability and availability of successful candidates.

Training

Sample training: Bon Secours Training Programme 

We are looking to recruit adults with Down syndrome for this training programme which will start in September. 

This six week training programme will allow successful candidates to gain experience in a hospital setting as well as gain work place skills. 

All applicants will complete pre-employment and pre-interview training online with our employment team. 

Skills, Competencies and/or Knowledge 

Support and Training 

  • Successful candidates will be given on the job training and will be working alongside a work mentor for the duration of the 6 weeks training. 

Work Environment 

  • Inclusive Workplace: A supportive and inclusive work environment where diversity is valued. 
  • Accessibility: The workplace is accessible and accommodates any specific needs related to Down syndrome. 
  • Building and Maintaining Relationships – Communication 

Physical Demands 

  • Ability to stand and move around the as needed. 
  • Minimal lifting required. 

Successful candidates will need to have the following

  • A positive attitude to working 
  • Be on time for work and to be available for the 2 days ever week over the 6 weeks training 
  • Ability to understand and follow instructions 
  • Good communication skills 

Below are the 3 different training opportunities: 

Job Title: Catering Support 

Hours: 5 Hours over 2 days per week 

Reports to: Catering Services Manager 

Mentor: Support Services Manager 

Duties:   

  • Meeting and greeting customers 
  • Making sure that all canteen stock is stocked up at all times 
  • Cleaning of the canteen which includes the tables, chairs and all countertops.
