The Learning Profile of Children with Down Syndrome
This webinar will support teachers, parents, SNAs and other professionals working with children with Down syndrome at primary school. The Specific Learning Needs or Learning Profile of the child will be outlined; and the implications for learning will be discussed.
Attendees can choose to attend on their preferred date, regardless of their location. Please register on the links below. There is no charge for webinars, which will only go ahead if sufficient numbers register to attend.

Choosing a School – Moving from Pre-School to Primary level

This webinar will look at choosing a primary school. The school setting options available will be outlined. The rights of children to attend a school of their choice will be discussed along with the impact of the child’s communication difficulties for parents when they are choosing the school for their child. The webinar will also examine how the pre-school can assist parents as they make the choice; the information parents should look for at the pre-school that will assist them; and the questions parents should ask any school and ask themselves before making a decision to enrol their child. The webinar will be facilitated by Olive Buckeridge- Head of Early Intervention DSI; and Fidelma Brady – Head of Education DSI. The rights of children to attend a school of their choice will be discussed along with the impact of the child’s communication difficulties for parents when they are choosing the school for their child. The webinar will be facilitated by Nicola Hart- Research and Support Specialist DSI; and Fidelma Brady – Head of Education DSI.
