Down Syndrome Ireland and Plunket College Team Up

 

Down Syndrome Ireland is delighted to announce the creation of a new skills-based programme in collaboration with Plunket College of Further Education and Training, City of Dublin ETB. 

The programme will focus on the development of practical skills in the areas such as Woodwork, Technology and Horticulture with all modules being accredited at Level 2 and 3. 

This is a fantastic opportunity for people with Down syndrome to acquire a new skill set in areas that they have a natural interest. It is envisaged that this programme will lay the foundation for its participants to further engage in Further Education and Training or consider to careers in these sectoral areas. 

This pilot programme will run over the academic year commencing in late September 2024 until May 2025. 

Plunket College of Further Education and Training has a long history of providing educational excellence and of supporting learners with additional needs achieve success. Down Syndrome Ireland is absolute delighted to be a collaborative partner in this exciting new initiative.  

Plunket College of Further Education is situated on the main Swords Road, about 5 minutes from the M50, which makes it easily accessible to students in the North Dublin area and neighbouring counties such as Louth and Meath. Plunket College is served directly by numerous bus routes.
