Seanie Vaughan – My son Louie

Listen to singer and songwriter Seanie Vaughan from Connemara, Galway talks on the RTÉ Radio 1 – Miriam O Callaghan show, about how his life changed with his son Louie’s Down syndrome diagnosis.

Louie was diagnosed with Down syndrome 3 weeks after his birth, what scared Seanie and his wife the most was their lack of knowledge about Down syndrome, as he put it:

‘I was green, I knew so little about the condition’.

15 months on the journey, Seanie’s son is full of joy and happiness and learning about Down syndrome has given the musician and his family a new perspective and insight about life. Having a child with Down syndrome has taught them to appreciate the small things in life and take things one step at a time.

Seanie is touring in March to spread awareness around Down syndrome –  and he is very kindly dedicating all of the profit from his tour to DSI.

You can catch Seanie at the following venues in March:

March 21st: The Cobblestone – Dublin
March 22nd: Odd Mollies – Drogheda
March 23rd: The Black Gate Cultural Centre – Galway
