Sinéad Flynn

Sinéad is our Adult Education Officer. She supports adult members, their families, branches, teachers and staff in the field of adult education. Her role includes the development of adult education courses for people with Down syndrome. As a way for adult members to enjoy literacy outside the classroom and be part of the community, she works with members and libraries setting up and supporting nationwide book clubs. Adult Education Officer

Sinéad is our Adult Education Officer. She supports adult members, their families, branches, teachers and staff in the field of adult education. Her role includes the development of adult education courses for people with Down syndrome. As a way for adult members to enjoy literacy outside the classroom and be part of the community, she works with members and libraries setting up and supporting nationwide book clubs. Sinéad brings over 25 years' experience working across education in diverse settings to the role. She has worked in primary, post-primary and further education, including Special Education and mainstream, and published successful teaching and learning material. Since joining Down Syndrome Ireland, Sinéad has written the Down Syndrome Ireland online music course. 

Sinéad is a strong believer in lifelong learning. Since her Social Science Degree, she has completed a wide range of courses, including a Masters in Applied Linguistics and a Post-Grad Diploma in Inclusive and Special Education.
