50 for 50 Challenge

Down Syndrome Ireland is celebrating its 50th Anniversary this year and we want as many people as possible to get involved!

Since being established back in 1971, Down Syndrome Ireland has relied heavily on the wonderful generosity of public fundraising and donations to sustain the provision of our vital services to children and adults with Down syndrome, and their families throughout Ireland. With only 14% State funding this reliance continues.

Help us celebrate our 50th Anniversary by taking on our 50 for 50 Challenge this October. We are asking people to raise a minimum of 50 euros by taking on a 50 based challenge – it could be to walk, run, cycle or swim 50km during the month, or do 50 push-ups/sit-ups/squats, etc, each day – it’s very much up to you what challenge you take on: Your Challenge Your Way!

The money raised from your 50 for 50 Challenge will help us continue our important work with children and adults with Down syndrome throughout Ireland.

How it works

The 50 for 50 Challenge will take place during October. It is up to participants themselves as to what challenge they take on: Your Challenge Your Way!

Suggestions include walking, run, cycle or swim 50km during the month, or do 50 push-ups/sit-ups/squats or whatever you find works for you each day. You do the challenge in your own time and link in with the 50 for 50 Challenge Facebook Group for peer-to-peer encouragement and support.
