We are thrilled to announce that the single ‘My Hero’ which the ‘Woodie’s Heroes’ singers recorded recently with the Irish band Wild Youth goes on release today! The single is part of the Woodie’s Heroes fundraising campaign which aims to raise over €1 million for their four chosen charities this summer, of which Down Syndrome Ireland is one. The ‘Woodies Heroes’ singers were made up of Woodie’s staff with special guests and DSI junior members Lorna Dolan and Cathy May Foote! The single is just one part of a four-week fundraising drive from Monday 23rd July to Sunday 19th August, across the Woodie’s stores through an array of activities in and out of the work place, including a gruelling 1,600km cycle across the country aiming for miles of smiles!
The single can be downloaded here and on itunes and we urge you to please donate what you can on the Woodie’s website; you will be helping four great causes, Down Syndrome Ireland, Make A Wish, Temple Street and Jack & Jill.
All money raised with Woodies is to provide more resources for our Education Programme so that we can provide more support to teachers. It will mean that we will be able to further develop our education programmes and give much more support to teachers and our member families all over Ireland.
