The Experience of Transition from Preschool to Primary School for Children with Down Syndrome is a study aimed at investigating the experiences of Irish parents and teachers of children with Down syndrome as they make this transition.

The objective of the research is to identify the supports and strategies that are effective and beneficial for parents and teachers, while also considering the factors that act as a barrier to a successful transition experience. The outcomes from this research will contribute to future practice in the area, and have a positive impact on children with Down syndrome, their parents, teachers, and other involved professionals.

Data will be gathered through one-off virtual interviews.

If you would like further information about this research or would like to get involved, please get in touch at laura-marie.maher@ucdconnect.ie.
