Announced extension to the Personalised Budget Pilot until Q3 2023

Minister of State with responsibility for Disability Anne Rabbitte has announced an extension to the Personalised Budget Pilot until Q3 2023, with the accompanying evaluation process to be completed in Q2, 2024.

A personalised budget is an amount of funding that a person with a disability may be considered for by the HSE. Personalised Budgets can provide individuals with disabilities with more choice and control over the services and supports they receive.

While we welcome the fact that more people will have an opportunity to join the pilot, it is disappointing as the extension of the pilot means essentially a delay in full rollout of individualised funding on request for people with disabilities.
